Welcome to Vintl
A waterfall, a themed trail for young explorers and a deep-rooted craft tradition
If you’ve ever wondered how sheep’s wool becomes loden - and why this natural fabric retains its charm over time - Vintl is the place to find out. The village is not only the gateway to the Pusteria Valley, it’s also a place where craftsmanship truly matters. In 1999, the Lodenwelt was created: production site, shop and museum all under one roof. And because quality often inspires more, the Capriz cheese dairy was added - a place that highlights South Tyrolean products as well as the people behind them.
A love for fine, local things certainly defines the region - but that’s not all. Outdoors, Vintl has a wonderfully family-friendly feel. Along the Elfenweg trail, children learn about nature at interactive stations and, almost along the way, reach the Vintl waterfall. Its waters plunge 43 metres down into the valley - an impressive sight. From the rock balcony just above, the view is even more spectacular, and nearby picnic spots invite you to linger. A short walk with a big reward.
