In addition to an interactive museum, an open enclosure with sheep, the traditional Loden workshop and a spacious shopping area, the Lodenwirt restaurant is also located here. Covering 3,000 square metres, the Loden World offers an enjoyable experience for the whole family – especially on rainy days.
During a tour of the Loden Museum, visitors learn everything about the production of traditional Bolzano Loden, which begins with the sheep. The process starts with sheep shearing, followed by the traditional fulling process, in which the wool is kneaded with warm soapy water. The exhibition also demonstrates wool carding and spinning.
Children can experience every step up close and even become Loden producers themselves.
