Look and you will find
Stepping into a museum is a little like opening a window onto another time. Through it, the story of a place slowly unfolds. The Hofburg in Brixen, home to the Diözesanmuseum, reflects the splendour of the Baroque era. Schloss Rodenegg leads visitors back to the Middle Ages with its remarkable frescoes. The Pharmaziemuseum in Brixen, with its hundreds of delicate vials, tells the story of medicine and healing, while the Bergwerksmuseum Villanders offers a vivid glimpse into the life of miners deep beneath the mountains.
Museums are not only about looking back, though. Modern exhibitions bring the past closer and offer fresh perspectives. At the Capriz Fine Cheese Dairy, visitors discover how milk becomes the round wheels of cheese. And the Mineralienmuseum in Natz shows why the region is fascinating from a geological point of view - and why it sometimes even sparkles. Opening a window now and then - gaze into the past and glimpse the future - that is the art of museums.
