welcome to Meransen
Wide views, small alpine huts and sunshine warming your heart - a place to unwind
280 days of sunshine? Some places really are blessed. In Meransen, you feel close to nature. Wide meadows stretch across the high plateau, hikes lead ever higher - after all, the village already sits at 1,414 metres - and then comes that moment when the view opens up across the valleys. Everything comes together up here. There’s a warm, familiar feeling as you move through this village of around 1,000 people. If you want to go higher, take the Gitschberg Nesselbahn cable car straight from the village into the hiking area. In summer, there’s a special spot waiting: the Gitschberg Sun Park right at the top station, where kids love the giant slide and the sun throne, and parents enjoy a well-earned moment of peace. Also worth discovering: the Altfasstal valley, with its many small alpine huts - a perfect destination for family hikes.
When winter covers the meadows in snow and the crystals sparkle in the sun, it’s time to slow down. On a snowshoe hike. With a coffee in the sunshine. Or on the slopes of the nearby ski area. One thing remains the same throughout the seasons: in Meransen, you really can relax.
