Welcome to the Pfunders valley
Marvellous mountains: so much space relax in - and to head out
This is not a place for rushing - and that’s exactly what makes it so appealing. As you drive from Vintl into the Pfunders Valley, you leave the everyday behind step by step. In Weitental and Pfunders, authenticity is truly lived, and tradition is more than just a word. The journey itself, through the mountain landscape to Pfunders at the end of the valley, slows everything down. At around 1,150 metres, farms and meadows stretch along the stream, while higher up the slopes rise and give the valley its alpine character. And yet, the climate is often surprisingly mild.
Set off: Pfunders is the perfect starting point for a wide range of hiking experiences. Short family walks, summit adventures to the Napfspitze, or routes to Lake Eisbrugg and onwards to the Edelrauthütte. For those who want to go further, the Pfunderer Höhenweg awaits - one of the most impressive long-distance trails in the Alps. Stretching over 71 kilometres (with the option to tackle individual stages), it connects mountain huts along the way. Here, it’s easy to fall into the rhythm of the mountains.
