The Pfunders Alpine Hut Circuit offers a varied hike through alpine landscapes, with panoramic views and refreshment stops along the way. The route takes you to traditional alpine huts and viewpoints overlooking the Pfunders Valley and extending as far as the Peitlerkofel mountain.
Start in the hamlet of Dun, where the Alpine Hut Circuit begins. Follow trail no. 17 uphill for a short distance, then turn right onto trail no. 13A. After a while, continue left on trail no. 13 and later take trail no. 18 to the Egger-Bodenalm, with its dairy on the Hochalm alpine pasture.
After the hut, continue for a short distance and then turn right, following the slope until you reach trail no. 13. Follow it to the junction with the Pfunders High Trail. Turn right again towards the Kuhscharte and walk briefly along the newly built forest road. The route leads to the Gampiel Alm, which offers panoramic views over the Pfunders Valley as far as the Peitlerkofel mountain. The hut also has a small petting zoo for families.
Descend along the forest road to the Egger Höfe. From there, return to Dun by first following trail no. 13 and then turning left onto the “Alter Weg” trail, which leads back to the car park.
From there it is an additional 45-minute walk to the starting point of the hike.
This summer, a shuttle service will operate on Saturdays and Sundays from 4 July to 30 August. The shuttle departs from Lärcher and takes you to the starting points for hikes on the Eggerseite and in Dun.
