welcome to Spinges

Mountain air, beauty and bunkers - a place to relax, explore and enjoy

When South Tyrolean students dive into the history of their region, this place is almost always part of the story: Spinges. It was here that Tyrolean sharpshooters and local residents once fought against Napoleon’s troops - with a key figure at their side: the young farm maid Katharina Lanz. And then there’s a place you wouldn’t expect: the bunker above the village. Today, it’s a local recreation area with a playground - perfect for a short break in an unusual setting. How many people can say they’ve slid down a bunker or used it as a panoramic viewpoint?

From here, stepping into the world of alpine pastures feels effortless. The alpine trail leads towards the Anratterhütte mountain hut, out into the fresh air along paths that combine scenery and pure enjoyment. The sun at your side, wide-open views ahead - a charming mountain village at 1,105 metres. In winter, the colours change as does the vibe: winter hikes, ski tours, a stop at a mountain hut and then back down to the village. Sound perfect, and it really is.
