Welcome to Rodeneck

Hiking, biking, discovering frescoes and marvelling at nature on the Rodeneck-Lüsner Alm

With every metre the road winds its way up to Rodeneck, you feel yourself slowing down. It’s no exaggeration: at 885 metres above sea level, the village marks the gateway to a true retreat. It’s not just the sunshine or the people who take time for a friendly chat - it’s also the unique mountain panorama. And then there’s the Rodeneck-Lüsner Alm. A vast high plateau so beautiful you’ll want to stop at every turn. A postcard-perfect landscape spread across 20 square kilometres, with wide alpine meadows, gentle trails and plenty of space for bikers who earn their way up.

Families will feel right at home here, too. Many paths are easy enough for pushchairs, and the mountain huts turn the surroundings into a natural playground. Or take on the Dolorama long-distance trail from the Rodeneck-Lüsner Alm to Lajen. Rodeneck is just as rewarding in winter, when snow settles on the larch trees and the cross-country trail is freshly groomed. And for those who enjoy stepping into the past, a visit to Rodenegg Castle is a must: discover frescoes, uncover stories and see Rodeneck from a different perspective.
