welcome to Gufidaun
Artful touches, rural culture and traditional inns - a place with a profound sense of character
Built across seven hills in the heart of South Tyrol? Yes - Gufidaun. Its setting alone makes this small village in the Isarco Valley truly picturesque. From afar, the pointed steeple of the Parish Church of St. Martin stands out. Closer up, you’ll notice the striking exterior frescoes that give Gufidaun its distinctive artistic character. Historic buildings such as Ansitz Hohenhaus, Koburg and Summersberg Castle tell stories of another time.
This is a place where tradition is lived. You can feel it in the local inns. Between the parish church and Summersberg Castle once stood the home of a court clerk - today, it houses a welcoming inn. Those interested in rural culture and craftsmanship will find fascinating insights at Ansitz Hohenhaus, which traces the development of Gufidaun. Every two years, the village transforms into an open-air museum, when around 30 artists exhibit their works along the main street. Gufidaun - a small village with real character.
