1.S(ew)it
S(ew)it combines sustainability, creativity and community. In open sewing workshops, new textile urban furniture is created together from used textiles. Participants are invited to experiment with existing materials, exchange ideas and learn about new forms of creative reuse. The process is as important as the result: by co-creating, encounters and conversations about cooperation, resource conservation and climate justice emerge. The project shows how supposed waste can become valuable resources and how craft activities can bring people together.
2. B-SHAPES
How do borders shape our perception of society, migration and coexistence? These questions are addressed by B-SHAPES, a research project within Horizon Europe. In a creative workshop, participants create collages from newspaper and magazine cut-outs and engage with topics such as migration, border experiences and identity. The artistic approach opens up new perspectives on European border regions and invites participants to critically question existing narratives. Together, individual collages are created and impulses for exchanging ideas about societal challenges and cohesion are generated.
3. Urban Freestyle Objects
Urban Freestyle Objects invites families to build and design together using cardboard and other reused materials. The central idea is to create a new space for community from simple materials. Children and adults develop creative solutions together, experiment with different construction techniques and create a imaginative village for everyone. Through play, the workshop teaches the principles of upcycling and demonstrates how new things can emerge from everyday materials. At the end, participants receive a participation certificate with the construction techniques used in the workshop.
4. Radio Tandem
Radio Tandem transforms the FORT biennale into an open space for listening, storytelling and co-creation. Throughout the day, conversations with experts alternate with spontaneous contributions from the audience and musical performances. Visitors can actively participate or simply listen and follow the voices of the day. The live radio creates connections beyond the walls of Franzensfeste fortress and makes the event's themes, stories and encounters audible for a broader audience. This creates a shared space for exchange, diverse perspectives and new ideas.
4. Presentation of the project ‚Places‘ in Franzensfeste Fortress
The EU project PLACES makes Franzensfeste Fortress even more accessible, inclusive and digital. Through new multimedia and interactive offerings, barrier-free visit solutions, virtual tours and inclusive communication formats, the fortress's cultural heritage becomes accessible to a broader audience.
