The starting point of the hike is the village centre of Terenten. From there, walk about one kilometre west along the Pustertal Sun Road. Shortly before Gasthof Neuwirt, cross the road and follow Trail No. 3. The trail crosses the Winnebach stream and then continues along a small asphalt road to Guggenhof. From there, a forest path leads to another minor road heading to the hamlet of Pichlern.
After a gentle climb past Mair am Hof Farm, continue for about 20 minutes to the junction with Trail No. 11 in Pichlern. Follow it southwest. Pass the Bar Café Niederhof and continue to Kuenhof. At the bus stop on the Pustertal Sun Road, cross the road again. From here, you can also return to the village by bus.
Then follow Trail No. 3A, later changing to Trail No. 3B. At the junction with Trail No. 18, leave Trail No. 3B and cross the Winnebach stream once more. Trail No. 18 leads you back to the village centre of Terenten. The hike ends back at the village centre of Terenten.
