The third stage of the Chestnut Trail (Keschtnweg) leads from Chiusa via Villanders to Barbian, combining nature, culture, and tradition in a varied and scenic route. Along the way, hikers pass historic village centres, traditional farms, old chestnut groves, forests, and meadows. Numerous viewpoints offer beautiful views over the Isarco Valley. The route includes paved sections as well as gravel, forest, and meadow paths, with some steeper sections along the way.
