It is a precious habitat, home to both people and wildlife – a place where we can breathe deeply and reconnect with ourselves. And it is exactly this space we want to protect. How, you might ask?
This small building, which adds to the village’s picturesque appearance, stands just a few metres from the main church and was consecrated in 1344. The lower storey of the solid, perfectly square structure now serves as a mortuary chapel. St Michael, who is also venerated as the patron saint of the dead, seems to keep watch over the cemetery, which is considered one of the most beautiful. The wrought-iron grave crosses are distinctive and their originality has no clear explanation: the front sides of the crosses are set facing away from the grave mound.
