Since November 2016, a contemporary fountain has graced the inner courtyard of the Hofburg palace of Brixen. An artist from the Gadertal valley, Franz Kehrer, fashioned the fountain from white Ratschings marble. It is vaguely shaped like a calyx. It was important to the artist to marry the old with the new, reconciling the white fountain and the black Renaissance figures in the arcades.
