It is a precious habitat, home to both people and wildlife – a place where we can breathe deeply and reconnect with ourselves. And it is exactly this space we want to protect. How, you might ask?
n Villanders, processions are an integral part of the village’s religious and cultural life. On special church holidays such as Pentecost, Sacred Heart Sunday, the Assumption of Mary and Rosary Sunday, the village community walks through the village after Holy Mass. The Corpus Christi procession already takes place on Saturday: after Holy Mass in the courtyard of Gravetsch Castle, the procession leads to the parish church of Villanders. The traditional celebrations are accompanied by the Villanders music band and the “Anton von Gasteiger” Schützen company, lending the event a dignified and atmospheric setting.
Route
From the SS12 near Chiusa, turn onto the provincial road to Villanders; after a few bends you’ll reach the village.
Bus line 345 runs from Chiusa to Villanders.
