It is a precious habitat, home to both people and wildlife – a place where we can breathe deeply and reconnect with ourselves. And it is exactly this space we want to protect. How, you might ask?
To mark its 125th anniversary, the Diocesan Museum Hofburg Brixen invites visitors on a journey through its eventful history.
Historical photographs and film footage document not only the museum itself, but also the Hofburg during the period when it was still used as an episcopal residence. Posters from past temporary exhibitions illustrate the museum’s wide range of its activities. Personal stories and memories also reveal the human side of this historic building and show how many people have accompanied and shaped the museum over the decades.
Visitors are also invited to write down their own experiences and memories of the Hofburg and the Diocesan Museum, thereby contributing to the presentation. In this way, a multifaceted picture of the museum’s 125-year history will gradually emerge.
The presentation can be viewed on the second floor of the Hofburg in Brixen from 13 September to 8 December 2026.
