Welcome to Natz/Viums

A wild river landscape, four biotopes and relaxing loungers on the Ölberg - pure relaxation

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree here. Thanks to the mild climate, Natz and Viums are perfect for apple blossom - especially on the sunny plateau above the valley basin. This is a region of short distances. From the village, you can head straight into the nearby Rienz Gorge, a dramatic 200-metre-deep ravine carved by a wild river landscape. Or make your way to the Waldertor viewpoint near Viums, where the view opens up to the charming Rodenegg Castle with its famous Iwein frescoes. Past meadows, forests and countless apple orchards - you’ll find no fewer than four different biotopes. Water birds, dragonflies, reeds and cattails: a must for anyone who wants to experience nature up close

And then there are the panoramic loungers on the Ölberg. The perfect place to unwind and take in the mountain views. Which peak is higher? Where does that trail lead? Which hike should I try next? Or perhaps a visit to the mineral museum in Natz, home to one of the largest collections in the Alps? One thing’s certain: it’s time to get going.
