This winter hike leads from Vals to Fane Alm, a traditional alpine village with wooden huts and a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The route starts in Vals and leads through the winter landscape, passing Kurzkofelhütte. Along the way, views gradually open up towards Fane Alm.
The alpine village lies in a sunny, sheltered mountain basin. You can stop for a break at the managed alpine inn. Check the opening hours of Zingerlehütte in advance to plan your excursion accordingly.
The return follows the same route as the ascent.
