This winter hike takes you from Vals to the Fane Alm, a unique alpine village with traditional log cabins and the Chapel of St. Mary. The trail starts in Vals at the "Berg am Boden" parking lot and follows Trail No. 17 through the winter landscape, passing the Kurzkofel Hut. As you continue, the Fane Alm gradually comes into view.
The alpine village lies in a sunny, sheltered mountain basin. At the mountain inn, you can stop for a relaxing break. Be sure to check the opening hours of the Zingerle Hut before setting out to plan your trip accordingly.
Return along the same route back to Vals, where the winter hike ends.
