The winter hike starts at the paid Altfasstal parking lot. From there, follow the well-groomed, almost level trail towards Großberghütte. The route leads through the winter forest without any significant climbs. Once you leave the forest behind, views open up over the sunny Altfasstal Valley.
The well-signposted trail continues along a small stream through the valley. At the head of the valley, you reach Wieserhütte at 1,850 metres, where you can stop for a break.
Warm clothing and sturdy winter footwear will keep you well prepared for the hike through the snow-covered landscape.
There is a paid parking area at the entrance to Altfasstal Valley, which serves as the starting point for the hike.
