Follow the theme trail through a pristine habitat along the Schalderer Bach torrent. The pure mountain waters of this natural monument pass through the Schalderertal Valley for 11 km before flowing into the Eisack river at Vahrn/Varna, just north of Brixen/Bressanone.
Starting from the Vahrn central car park (671 m) below the Parish Church of St. Georg, follow the Vahrner Kirchweg road up a slight incline. Turn right into the Georgssteig path following the direction of the Schalderer Bach torrent, passing an ancient chestnut tree before arriving at the first and original Kneipp baths in South Tyrol. Following the right bank of the torrent (marked with the emblem of a water dipper), the themed trail at times crosses wooden walkways into the valley. At the last station of the theme trail (830 m), the high forest trail leads to Salern (770 m) along trail no. 6. Descend down trail no. 20, passing the Bartgeis herbal farm along the way back to the starting point. At the start of the hike, an info board highlights the special features of the theme trail. Visitors are transported into a fantasy world, enhanced by various games. At the end of the trail there is a rest stop.
