It is a precious habitat, home to both people and wildlife – a place where we can breathe deeply and reconnect with ourselves. And it is exactly this space we want to protect. How, you might ask?
A wonderful hike on the Villanders Alp up to the Villanders Mountain, featuring wide alpine meadows, quiet paths, and spectacular views stretching to the Dolomites. Highlights include the Sarner Scharte, Totensee Lake, and the impressive summit scenery, making this tour especially rewarding.
From the Saltnerstein parking area, we follow markers no. 6, 7A, and 7 toward the Rittner Horn as far as the Gasteiger Saddle. From there, we hike on trail no. 3 up to the Sarner Scharte. The route then continues on trail no. 2 to the Villanders Mountain. The return follows trails no. 2 and 2A, past Totensee Lake to Totenkirchl, and finally along trail no. 6 back to the starting point.
