The starting point of the hike is the village centre of Terenten. From there, follow the Pustertal Sun Road west to the Hotel Tirolerhof. Turn right and follow Trail No. 1A along the Nature and Culture Trail to the nature reserve. Above the reserve, continue left on Trail No. 1A to Stricknerhof in Pein.
Then follow Trail No. 1 towards Margen. After the Moarhof Guesthouse, turn left and hike across Talson to Hauerhof. The Panorama Trail No. 1 continues into the Mühlental Valley. From there, you can optionally descend to the village centre. Otherwise, remain on Trail No. 1, cross the Terner Bach stream, and continue past an old farmhouse and along the edge of the forest to Alpeggerhof. From there, Walderlaner Road leads you back to the starting point. The hike ends back in the village centre of Terenten.
