The starting point of the hike is the village centre of Terenten. From there, walk west along the Pustertal Sun Road to the Hotel Tirolerhof. Turn right and follow Trail No. 1A to Pillinghof and then to the Marienstöckl wayside shrine. A forest path then branches off to the left and leads to the Pirchner Moos nature reserve. Continue along a meadow path, passing a farmhouse, until you reach the Margen Road.
From there, you can make a detour to St. Margaret's Church. Afterwards, follow the Nature and Culture Trail along Hansleitern Road to Jakobihof. From here, head east into the Mühlental Valley and follow the Terner Bach stream, passing the earth pyramids, until you return to the village centre of Terenten. The hike ends back in the village centre of Terenten.
