From the village square in Villanders (880 m), the somewhat steep trail no. 3 climbs past the church to the second switchback of the Villanders farm road (bus stop), then continues to the right to the hamlet of Gravetsch (932 m). From Gravetsch Castle, two parallel trails (no. 3 and no. 3B) ascend through the forest around the ridge to the miners’ chapel of St. Anna (1,134 m) on the northern slope of Pfunderer Berg. The two paths rejoin shortly before the chapel clearing. Return via the other trail.
Variant:
At the St. Anna Chapel, a path starts that leads close to several adit entrances of the Villanders mine and joins a forest road. The tunnels can be visited on a guided tour Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 and 14:00, and Sundays at 10:30. Following forest road no. 21, you reach the alpine road at the Zilderer bend (1,335 m). Return by public bus or walk back downhill via Herrenwiesen and Gravetsch to Villanders.
