The running route from Terenten to Pein and Margen follows varied sections and offers extensive views. It is suitable for experienced runners looking to combine a sporting challenge with outdoor exercise.
The starting point is in the centre of Terenten. From there, follow a flat asphalt road to the end of the hamlet of Pein. After the Forchnerhof farm, the route climbs gently through the forest towards Margen. The highest point is reached at St Margaret’s Church. Then follow the Margen road downhill back to the village centre, the finishing point.
The 9.3-kilometre circular route includes 7.5 kilometres of asphalt and 1.8 kilometres of forest tracks or woodland paths. With 270 metres of elevation gain, good basic fitness is required.
Follow the SS49 through the Pustertal valley to Vintl. From there, turn towards Terenten and follow the road uphill to the village centre of Terenten, the starting point of the tour.
