The hike leads from Meransen via Moserhütte to Klein Gitsch. The varied route takes you through forests, meadows and alpine pastures to the summit, where you can enjoy views of the surrounding mountains.
The hike starts at the Altfasstal parking lot. From there, follow the signs towards Moseralm. Wide forest roads lead gently uphill through the forest to Moserhütte. From here, trail no. 6 continues through meadows to the summit of Klein Gitsch at 2,262 metres, which you reach in about one hour.
For the descent, you can return along the same route or choose an alternative. From the summit of Klein Gitsch, head north across the Ochsenboden to Weißalm and continue along trail no. 12A to Lafaie Alm. Follow the marked Jagersteig trail across the wooded slopes until you reach a wide forest road leading back to the parking lot. Allow around two hours for the descent from Klein Gitsch.
