This varied circular hike starts in the centre of Barbian and leads via Three Churches and Briol up to the Barbian Alp. From the Huber Kreuz car park, the route continues to the Unterhornhaus and Feltuner Hütte, offering sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and the Dolomites.
The return route passes the mountain pine oil distillery, the Unteraichner Alp and the Nixenteich pond before descending to Barbian. This long hike follows walking trails, forest roads and, in some sections, narrow and rocky mountain paths. A good level of fitness, sure-footedness and suitable mountain equipment are required. Refreshments are available at the Unterhornhaus and Feltuner Hütte.
