Along the way, hikers can discover the special natural environment of the Villanders Alpine Pasture and learn more about the local mountain pine and the traditional production of valuable mountain pine oil. An interesting themed trail combining nature and fascinating insights.
Start at the “Saltnerstein” parking area (Villanders Alp): from the Gasser Hut we continue via Rinderplatz and head on to Mair in Plun as far as the Marzuner Schupfe, following the signs for “Latschenweg”. The mountain pine demonstration distillery is located there.

How to get there
Leave the highway at Klausen/Chiusa and take the first exit at the first roundabout. At the next roundabout, take the second exit and follow the road for about 2 km. Then turn right towards Villanders and continue to the village centre. At the Despar supermarket, turn right towards Villanderer Alm and follow the road to the Saltnerstein car park near the Gasser Hütte.
